For those of you who don't know, my
sister-in-law had a 20's themed birthday party this last Saturday. It came together perfectly and was the best party I've been to in a long time. If you're curious, you can find out more about the details
here.

I cooked the other day and whipped up a fabulous stir-fry. Chicken, fresh picked green beans, mushrooms, ginger, basil, garlic, lime, chili, peanuts, and Sriracha of course. So delicious.

Our barred owl keeps making appearances. At night, you can hear a bunch of them all calling back and forth.

That stir fry looks awesome - wish it was cool enough here to cook anything hot.
I went out for dinner with Tom Stobbe and his wife Alisha yesterday and Tom was remembering a class where you did a drawing of the 'force' opening a door. Ben van Meter is presenting a paper on it at a conference we're going to in Berkeley next week.
(I just heard someone outside say 'Severus, wait for me!' and I had to peek out the window and make sure it was a pet not a child they had named after Prof Snape! (It was)).
And that's the news in your comments box.
Ben's presenting on that kind of predicate, not on your drawing, clearly, although I'm sure much could be said about it :)
I actually wasn't planning on cooking since it was the hottest day of our little heat wave (106 degrees- I don't know what that is in Canadian), but then I said, "Screw the heat! I feel inspired!"
I realised you don't know Ben. You've been gone a while!
We got up to 38C (don't know what that is in American) but praise the LORD it is getting a little cooler.
Are you kidding me? I totally know Ben. He and Jessica came while Jenn and I were still there. He's one smart dude.
